Some studies suggest that excessive calcium supplementation may increase the risk of kidney stones and could contribute to calcium deposits in blood vessels in certain individuals. Many experts recommend getting calcium from foods such as dairy products, leafy greens, nuts, and fortified foods whenever possible.
