You might notice that you’re unusually short of breath when:
- Walking uphill
- Climbing stairs
- Exercising
- Performing activities that previously felt easy
Shortness of breath has many possible causes, however, including lung conditions and anemia, so it should not automatically be blamed on blocked arteries.
3. Unusual Fatigue
Some people with heart disease experience unusual tiredness, particularly during physical activity.
If everyday tasks suddenly leave you exhausted or your exercise tolerance has noticeably decreased, it is worth discussing with a healthcare professional.
Fatigue alone, however, is not a reliable test for artery disease.
4. Pain or Cramping in the Legs When Walking
Narrowed arteries supplying the legs can cause a condition called peripheral artery disease (PAD).
