Epsom salt can be used as a simple exfoliating ingredient.
Mix a small amount with water or a moisturizing oil and gently massage it onto rough areas such as the feet, elbows, or knees.
Avoid vigorous scrubbing, especially if your skin is sensitive, cracked, irritated, or sunburned.
4. Give Tired Feet a Warm Soak
A warm foot bath containing Epsom salt can feel soothing after a long day of standing or walking.
The warm water may help your feet feel more relaxed, while the salt can make the experience more pleasant.
However, Epsom salt is not a proven treatment for athlete’s foot or other fungal infections. Persistent itching, scaling, cracking, or discoloration should be evaluated and treated with an appropriate antifungal product when necessary.
5. Soothe Minor Skin Discomfort
Some people use diluted Epsom salt baths or soaks for minor skin irritation.
However, it shouldn’t be applied to open wounds or severely irritated skin without appropriate medical advice. If a skin problem is painful, spreading, infected-looking, or persistent, it is better to determine the underlying cause rather than relying on a home remedy.
