Teen’s Final Pleas Ignored as Fatal Stabbing Victim Dies Moments After Police Arrival
New details have emerged in the heartbreaking death of 18-year-old Henry Nowak, revealing the tragic final moments before the teenager died from multiple stab wounds.
Recently released police bodycam footage shows Henry repeatedly telling officers that he had been stabbed after they arrived at the scene in Southampton on December 3, 2025. However, amid the confusion and rapidly unfolding events, officers initially believed he was not seriously injured.
The footage captures Henry struggling to breathe while lying on the ground in handcuffs. At one point, he can be heard telling officers, “I’ve been stabbed,” only to receive a response that would later haunt those involved: “Don’t think you have, mate.”
As minutes passed, Henry’s condition rapidly deteriorated. Officers noticed that the teenager had become unusually quiet and motionless. Concern quickly turned into panic as they realized something was terribly wrong.
Emergency assistance was immediately requested, with officers calling for paramedics and additional support units equipped with advanced first-aid equipment. Despite their efforts, Henry stopped responding and appeared lifeless as officers desperately attempted to save him.
In a frantic attempt to determine what was causing his collapse, officers began removing parts of Henry’s clothing while receiving CPR guidance from medical professionals over the phone. It was only after several critical minutes had passed that the devastating truth was finally discovered.
A female officer, concerned that an injury had been overlooked, requested a torch and scissors to examine the victim more closely. Moments later, officers identified a stab wound to Henry’s chest.
The realization triggered an urgent response, but valuable time had already been lost. When paramedics arrived, officers informed them that they had only just discovered the serious wound.
Medical teams fought for nearly an hour to save the teenager’s life. Despite their efforts, Henry Nowak was pronounced dead shortly after midnight.
The man responsible for the attack, 23-year-old Vickrum Digwa, was later convicted of murdering Henry and sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 21 years. Prosecutors revealed that Digwa attempted to mislead investigators by falsely claiming he had been the victim of a racist attack.
The release of the footage has sparked widespread discussion about emergency response procedures and the challenges officers face when dealing with chaotic and rapidly developing incidents. For Henry’s family, however, the footage serves as a painful reminder of a young life lost and the desperate pleas that went unheard during his final moments.
